And The Winner Is!

Just returned from his world tour, Arif Saleem did not know that he was a very special Rotary Club member in Rotary District 5890! During his absence the District help it annual Conference. During the Conference there was a drawing from all the tickets submitted representing donations to the Rotary Foundation.

Lo and behold! Arif had one of his tickets pulled in the drawing and was declared the winner of a new car!

Man! Was he surprised! He called a number of the club members to verify that he had INDEED won the car before he could actually believe it.

So - Tuesday Karen Blakeman ramrodded a decorating effort for our meeting room to celebrate Arif's win. It was a super effort for a supper guy! Everyone wore a lei and applauded Arif's good luck.

Guests, Visitors and Other Good News

Keith Lovelace was a visitor thie week from the Bellaire/Southwest Houston Club. Always a welcome visitor!

Jeff Novy pitched a casual club social at a Chinese restaurant...this is now scheduled for Friday, June 4th, 6:30 PM, at China Sichuan Cuisine. The restaurant is located on the northwest corner of Gessner and Westpark (behind a Valero station). The food is quite good and the company for the evening cannot be beat!
