Planning For A Greater Houston

Jeff Mosely, President and CEO of The Greater HouJeff Moseleyston Partnership was our guest speaker this week. The Greater Houston Partnership comprises the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development and International Business. The Partnership is the primary advocate of Houston's business community and is dedicated to building regional economic prosperity.

Houston Is A Region of Opportunity

A Region…

  • that is open and ready for business.
  • with a entrepreneurial, can-do spirit that has attracted more Fortune 500 company headquarters than just about any other city in the United States.
  • whose world-class infrastructure connects Houston to the national and global community.
  • with a highly educated workforce, and more graduates than the national average.
  • where you can work, play and live well.

The Houston region is business-ready, with a sophisticated transportation system, pro-business culture, world class work force and educational institutions to power the industries of tomorrow.

The Houston region is the most ethnically and culturally diverse in the country, creating a variety of educational, cultural, social and business opportunities and networks.

The Houston region offers a business friendly environment with a low cost of living and an abundance of available land and space. Add to the mix a well-educated work force and a can-do spirit and your business has every opportunity to thrive. Learn more about our accredited economic development organization and our new certified property program allowing land owners and brokers to promote select properties to businesses and site selectors, consultants and other decision makers.

By 2010 it is estimated that Texas will have a population of 50 million or meor - compared to the current 23 million. the Houston region has a current population of about 4 million. The estimate for 2010 is 7 to 7 million. Plus, the target for job growth between 2005 and 2015 is 600,000 new jobs.
