Did You Get A Charge Out Of This?

Peter Carrico was our guest speaker this week. Peter Peter Carricothrough his company GeoVend International is an electricity broker. He works with a carefully chosen group of Retail Electric Providers (REPs) that offer very competitive pricing and excellent customer service. They can guarantee the price of your electricity for terms from three months to five years, depending on your usage.

Peter explained that there are three elements to the price you pay for electricity: The delivery costs, taxes and the actual charges for the electrical power. Peter works at finding the lowest prices for the electricity...since the other two elements are pretty static and only change based on the amount of electricity your use.

Peter an other electricty brokers work mostly with commercial accounts, since that is where the largest usage resides. But they also can work with single family residences and apartment projects.

You can learn more or contact Peter through his website

Installation Banquet and Awards Celeration

Saturday, June 27th, is the club's Installation Banquet and Awards Celebration. This is the meeting at which one Rotary Year ends...and the gavel is passed to the new Club President to start the new Rotary Year.

There will be awards and recognitions presented for special accomplishments and contributions during the 2008-2009 Rotary Year. Karen Blakeman, and hopefully a special guest, will present updates on the Paul Harris status of members and their contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

The club will present our special guest and honoree Margaret Mitchell, a long-time activist with the Sharpstown Civic Association and a current SCA Director, for her continued contributions to the community.

Special Guest Emcee, Past District Governor Jeff Tallas, will install the new club officers and board members for the 2009-2010 Rotary Year.

PLUS...there will be lots of Rotary comdraderie and good food. And...oh yes...the chance to win some special prizes.

You DO NOT want to miss this very special event...so CLICK HERE to make your reservations ($35 per person) via PayPal. We encourage early reservations...since that will allow us to properly plan the room layout and provide enough goodies for the anticipated winners.

Reservations MUST be made no later that Tuesday, June 23rd! Walk-ins WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

"My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success."
