Understanding Restoration and Bill and Darrell
Dealing with Insurance Companies

Darrell Anderson of Anderson Restoration joined us this week to talk about the things we all need to know about dealing with insurance companies after a damaging incident like Hurricane Ike.

If you have major damage Darrell advised it would be a good idea to have a Public Adjuster or a company such as his come in and give you the details on what needs to be repaired or replaced. If you have this information you will be in a better position to deal with the insurance company and its adjusters.

Unfortunately, although the purpose of having insurance is to "make you whole" after a disaster - often it seems like the insurance company is trying the offer you the smallest possible settlement to close the case. A Publc Adjuster or a firm such as Anderson Restoration can deal with the insurance company on your behalf to try and assure that you get the best total settlemet you deserve.

You can learn more about Anderson Restoration on their website. You can learn more about Public Adjusters on the Texas Department of Insurance website.

Guests, Visitors and Other Good News

Jeff Novy ran into an old friend and past club member...and invited him to join us for lunch this week. And he did! Feroze Abdullah is an entrepreneur who owns a cellular store on Harwin. He is also a challenge to John Naidu's title of "Best Dressed Rotarian". It was a delight to see and visit with Feroze again. He and Sultana have a long history together...having known each other as children in the distant past. Come back to Rotary Feroze!

The Cookie Momster, Karen Blakeman, reminded everyone that the Girl Scout Cookies are almost gone for this year. Check with Karen for last minute availabilities.

Delores Delsing, the Club's Resident Humorist, laid another "Goaner" on us this week. Jay Leno needs to find out who writes her material!
