Books for Students
Our special guest this week was Amanda Bluhm a teacher from Neff Elementary School in Sharpstown.
She came to talk to us about a project they are doing with support from The Houston Grand Opera which is underwriting some of of the costs. They they need some digital cameras. They ask. "When someone in your group gets a new camera, would you consider donating the old one to Neff Elementary on Mary Bates and Carvel?"
Ken Burgess donated one digital camera and Bill Landers has another one he will donate. Does anyone else of a digital camera they can donate? Let Ken know and he will arrange to get it to the school.
While Amanda was with us we also donated all of the speaker-signed books we had collected to date. They are specifically written for elementary aged students...so we needed a school to accept them. Neff is right in our Sharpstown area...and Amanda was extremely appreciative. We will invite her back!
