Mainframe...Same Frame

Wayne Staton gave us a Classification Talk this week talking about his history in the computer support business. Turns out it's not as wierd or as lonely as we might have thought.

And we had Jerry Hobby double checking the validity of the information - Jerry came out of the computer programming arena as well.

Wine Tasting, Dinner & Silent Auction

We had 62 in attendance for the club's wine tasting, dinner and silent auction at Pier 61 Seafood & Grill on Saturday, February 23rd. The group was a great mix of people and the club members really enjoyed meeting some new friends.

We were absolutely delighted that we had among those in attendance or Assistant Governor Judy Lee Gardiner and the esteemed District Governor Jeff Tallas and his beautiful wife Tracee. All of those who were invited guests are also most welcome to join us at our weekly lunch meetings (click here for more information).

The patience of the crowd as we ran through the evening was rewarded with some truly delightful wines. In case you did not take notes, the wines offered up for consideration were:

    • Murphy Goode Pfume Blanc
    • Chateau St. Michelle Reisling
    • Ravenswood Red Zinfindel

Special thanks to Pier 61, Chef Vincent and their wine distributor for the selection of the wines.

The silent auction tables were a popular area during the evening. At the end of the night may of our attendees walked out with some really great bargains! Our special thanks to our donors, including the Crowne Plaza Suites Hotel, the Sharpstown Park Golf Course, Demeris Bar-B-Q, Pier 61 Seafood & Grill, Brighton Collectibles - Highland Village, Judy Lee Gardiner, Karen Blakeman, Chuck Monteith, Jeff Novy, Ken Burgess, Sultana Kazim and Arif Saleem.
