Growing With Houston

Sharon Saunders of Houston Baptist University joined us this week to update everyone on the ongoing growth plans for our educational neighbor.

Currently under construction are a new student residental 6-story residential college that will increase the on-campus residents by about 370 Also under way is a new university educatonal facility just off of Fondren behind the Bank of America. All of this follows closely on the recent completion of the new Cultural Arts Center.

The university has been an excellent community member since its founding in 1960. It is exciting to see that it continues to grow and evolve to meet the educational needs of today's youth!

Greg Hinsley

Greg Hinsley Inducted

It was wonderful to be able to kick off the New Year by welcoming a new member into our Rotary family!

Greg Hinsley has been a visitor with us for over a month. He expressed a desire to give back to the community and the world...and he feels that Rotary will offer him the vehicle to accomplish this desire for service.

Greg was welcomed by President Chuck Monteith and Past President John PaulJourard...along with all the club members in attendance! WAY TO GO GREG!

Guests, Visitors & Other Good News

Our own Arif Saleem has returned from his world travels, including a visit to his homeland Pakistan. He brought back a club pennant from one of the Rotary Clubs he visited while there.

Sultana is also with us again. This lady puts in more miles traveling than do many aircraft. Between her visits to her children in California (and the grandbabies) and her trips to South America, Dubai and other word destinations Sultana wins the club's title of "Most Traveled." We are delighted to have her back with us!
