D'Lisa Simmons - Rotarian

The program this wek was a video interview with Past District Governor D'Lisa SImmons. D'Lisa has been a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar (to Singapore), served her home club (Galleria Area) in a number of offcies, including Club President and was the District 5890 Governor for Rotary Bicentennial Year 2004- 2005.

D'Lisa has visited the Nicaraguan Project (aka Children of The Dump) and was extremely moved by the conditions she saw there. She also has a deep concern about the lack of drinking water in many third world countries. She is a shining example of "Why I Am A Rotarian."

Guests, Visitors & Other Good Things

This week we were delighted to welcome two old frineds as visitoing Rotarans: Moe Singh of the Rosenburg Rotary Club and Ann Wright from the Galleria Area Club joined us for the meeting. Ann is also on the District Membership Committee, and she made a special presentation to Wayne Staton and his sponsor Karen Blakeman. Wayne is one of our newest club members.

Also joining us was Richard Rao as a guest of Jerry Hobby. Richard was Jerry's mentee while he was at Lee High School and has joined the club on a number of occasions as a member of our extended family.
