AG Judy Lee Gardiner Visits

Our Assistant Governor Judy Lee Gardiner visited with the club this week to talk about the Rotary Theme for this year "Rotary Shares."

Judy Lee told us about her year as Centennial President of the Galleria Area Club and her involvement with one of the District's visiting Ambassadorial Scholars. She choked up several times as she spoke of her sharing and love for "Cammy." A true story of Rotary Shares.

Karen Blakeman and Ken Marsh also spoke about what brought them to Rotary and their personal discoveries of how Rotary Shares. If you have a story you would like to tell about what brought you to be a member of Rotary and how you personally feel Rotary Shares...speak with President Chuck or Secretary Ken Burgess. We would love to hear from you!

Our Exchange Student Has Arrived!

Last week, Karen Blakeman, Chuck Monteith Evelyn Hoyer and a host of others descended upon Bush International to welcome our Exchange Student, Tammy Lin. Tammy is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Taipei Paramount, District 3480 in Taiwan.

Tammy will begin the exchange year staying with Karen Blakeman and her three daughters. All club members are encouraged to coordinate with Karen to assure that Tammy has the opportunity to visit the many typically Texan sights in and around Houston...as well as those mundane sights that are considered educational. Karen is also still seeking a family to assist with hosting Tammy for a part of the coming year. This family does not have to be Roatrian...but they should be able to assist Tammy in continuing to attend the High School where she will begin the school year - check with Karen for further details.
