Growing To Meet The Need
Dr. Aijaz Ali Khowaja, CEO the Ibn Sina Foundation, was out guest speaker this week. The Ibn Sina Foundation is the sponsor of the Commuinty Clinic on WIlcrest where the Sharpstown Rotary Club helped sponsor an immunization clinic in December of 2006.
Dr. Khowaja told the club about the new clinic facilities that are nearing completion next to the current clinic location. The new facility will greatly increase the ability of the clinic to provide preventative medical care to the large low incomce populaiton in the area surrounding the clinic site. Medical, dental, cardiac and prescription services will be provided through the new facility.
On Thursday, March 29, the new clinic will celebrate it's Grand Opening with a reception at 10:00 AM, followed by the Grand Opening Ceremonies at 11:00 AM. If you would like to attend the ceremonies please notify the Foundation by emailing event@ibnsinafoudation.org |

GUESTS VISITORS & GOOD NEWS
VIsiting with us this week was first time guest Margaret Mitchell, VP if the Sharpstown Cvis Association. She was joined by a familiar face, Keith Lovelace visiting from the Bellaire/Southwest Rotary Club. Y'all come...hear?
Karen Blakeman, the Club's Rotary Foundation Chair, honored JohnPaul Jourard and John Naidu for their continuing support of the Rotary Foundation. Both JP and John turned in another completed book of District Foundation Raffle tickets. Selling of the District Foundation Raffle tickets is one of hte easiest wasy for Rotarians to show support for the Rotary Foundation. PLUS - one of the tickets sold will yield the holder trip to South Africa! For more infomraiton on the raffell talk to Karen.
